How to change the turbo of your Citroen Saxo

In this way you will understand whether you are capable of it or not. Before you start, you must have all of the tools adequate. You are going to have the use of your oil container, a set of ratchet wrenches, your flat pliers, your allen and flat wrenches. Typically, turbochargers will be sold with their tool kit which includes joints, studs and a syringe oil. We still advise you to go see a mechanic because working with a pit is much easier for this kind of handling. What is more, the turbocharger turns out to be a particularly fragile component in this Citroen Saxo. Taking into account that the technique is not really complex, we advise you to go to a specialist.
- Drain the engine block then change this oil filter. Replace a small amount of oil. This is a mandatory manipulation!
- Remove all the plugs found on the turbocharger of your Citroen Saxo.
- Check that there are no foreign bodies inside the housings, as this is sometimes a source of malfunction.
- Remove the conduits as well as all the screws and then the nuts which will allow this turbocharger to be held.
- Remove the existing turbocharger from your Citroen Saxo.
- Fit the brand new turbocharger, checking that the seals match exactly
- Refit the oil return pipe
- Install all the screws and nuts you removed
- Fill the turbocharger with the oil supplied with the turbo
- Manually start the turbine to activate the turbocharger.
- Assemble all the connections to the Citroen Saxo turbocharger.
- Now that when all the components are fitted, you will be able to start the engine block and run it for 5 to 10 minutes.
Now that everything is in place but also that the car has been running for 5 to 10 minutes, you will be able to drive in your Citroen Saxo in order to check that the assembly turns correctly.
