Clutch and steering are two mechanical systems that the driver controls. One has said that it tends to deteriorate faster than the other: it is the clutch mechanism of course. Obviously with the gearbox, which is closely linked. It happens quite regularly that gearshift malfunctions occur on the + str (XXX) +. And even if the clutch is often the cause, it sometimes happens that we have surprises about the reason for the malfunctions. In addition, it sometimes avoids having to change the complete kit. So here are the gearshift malfunctions the most usual.
+ str (XXX) +: Impossible to pass one of the speeds
It sometimes happens that one of the gears no longer changes. Or just even or odd speeds. In this case, the clutch is in poor condition. However, this is not inevitably linked to the entire clutch kit or gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. It sometimes happens that the problem comes from a link or a rubber that holds it. The problem can still come from the gearbox. It is possible to remove it to check that no external component is blocking it. If the latter is defective, it will have to be changed.
Unable to shift gear once the + str (XXX) + engine is running
Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem. Since the engine block is off it is possible to shift your gears, this means that the gearbox of your + str (XXX) + is in good condition. Once the engine block has started, it is impossible. The problem comes from the clutch. Usually it will be advisable to change the complete clutch kit. You can still remove it and check the condition of all components. As a reminder, it is advisable to change the clutch every 150 km.
+ str (XXX) +: no speed passes
If none of the gears pass, the engine off as on, it's really unpleasant. One thing to check is the wear and tear on the gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. There may be a high probability that the latter is HS. In order to discern where the problem came from it is rather simple. If you can push the lever into the guide of one of the gears, but the gear does not take, the clutch is probably the problem. If the lever seems to be blocked and you cannot push it, the problem is probably with the gearbox. For both, it will most likely have to change one or more parts.
