The clutch and steering are the two mechanical devices that the driver steers. One, however, tends to deteriorate faster than the other: it is the clutch device of course. With in particular the gearbox, which goes with it. It happens relatively regularly that gearshift concerns occur on the + str (XXX) +. And even if the clutch is regularly involved, it happens that we have surprises about the cause of the concerns. In addition, this sometimes avoids changing the complete kit. Here are consequently the gearshift concerns the most usual.
+ str (XXX) +: Impossible to pass one of the speeds
It sometimes happens that one of the gears no longer shifts. Or just even or odd speeds. In this case, the clutch is in poor condition. However, this is not necessarily related to the entire clutch kit or gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. It is possible that the problem comes from a link or a rubber which holds it. The problem can still come from the gearbox. It can be removed to check that no external component is blocking it. If it is damaged, it will have to be changed.
Unable to shift gear once the + str (XXX) + engine is running
Unfortunately, this is a fairly frequent problem. Since the engine block is off it is possible to shift your gears, this means that the gearbox of your + str (XXX) + is in good condition. Once the engine block is running, it is impossible. The problem comes from the clutch. Generally it will be necessary to replace the complete clutch kit. You can still remove it and check the condition of all components. For information, it is recommended to replace the clutch every 150 km.
+ str (XXX) +: no speed passes
If none of the gears work, the engine stopped or in working order, it's really annoying. One thing to check is the wear and tear on the gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. Chances are that it will be HS. To understand where the problem came from, it's relatively simple. If you can push the lever in the guide of one of the gears, but that one does not engage, it is the clutch which holds undoubtedly a problem. If the lever seems to be blocked and you cannot push it, the problem is probably caused by the gearbox. In both cases, one or more parts will most certainly have to be replaced.
