The clutch and the steering are two mechanical devices that the driver controls. One, however, tends to deteriorate more quickly than the other: it is of course the clutch device. With obviously the gearbox, which is closely related. Rather, it often happens that gear shifting concerns occur on this + str (XXX) +. And even though the clutch is often involved, it sometimes happens that we have surprises about the reason for the concerns. Also, it sometimes avoids changing the entire kit. So here are the gearshift concerns the most usual.
+ str (XXX) +: Impossible to pass one of the speeds
It sometimes happens that one of the speeds does not pass anymore. Or just even or odd speeds. In this situation, the clutch is worn. But it is not necessarily related to the whole clutch kit or gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. It is possible that the problem is due to a connecting rod or a rubber that holds it. The problem can also arise from the gearbox. It is possible to disassemble it in order to check that no foreign element is blocking it. If the latter is damaged, it will have to be replaced.
Unable to change gear once the + str (XXX) + engine is started
Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem. Since the engine block is off, it is still possible to shift gears, which means that the + str (XXX) + gearbox is operational. Once the engine block is on, it is impossible. The problem is with the clutch. Usually it will be essential to replace the entire clutch kit. You can still remove it and check the condition of all the parts. As a reminder, it is still recommended to replace the clutch every 150 km.
+ str (XXX) +: no speed passes
If none of the gears shift with the engine off or running, it's really annoying. The first thing to check is the wear of the gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. There is a good chance that it is HS. In order to discern where the problem came from, it is quite easy. If you can put the lever in the guide of a gear, but it won't pick up, the clutch is certainly the problem. If the lever seems stuck and you can't push it, the problem is probably with the gearbox. For both of them, it will most likely be necessary to replace one or more parts.
