Clutch and steering are two mechanical systems that the motorist controls. One, however, is used to wear out faster than the other: it is the clutch mechanism of course. Obviously with the gearbox, which is closely linked. It happens rather regularly that gearshift problems occur on the + str (XXX) +. And even if the clutch is frequently involved, it sometimes happens that we have surprises about the source of the problems. In addition, it sometimes avoids changing the complete kit. Here are consequently the gear change issues the most regular.
+ str (XXX) +: Impossible to pass one of the speeds
It often happens that one of the gears no longer shifts. Or just even or odd speeds. In this situation, the clutch is in poor condition. However, this is not inevitably linked to the entire clutch kit or gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. It is possible that the concern comes from a link or from a rubber which holds it. The problem can still come from the gearbox. It can be dismantled to check that no external component is blocking it. If it is damaged, it must be replaced.
Unable to shift gear once the + str (XXX) + engine is running
This is unfortunately a rather frequent concern. Since the engine is off it is possible to shift your gears, it means that the gearbox of the + str (XXX) + is operational. Once the engine is started, it is impossible. The concern must come from the clutch. Usually it will be advisable to replace the complete clutch kit. You can try to remove it and look at the condition of all the parts. As a reminder, it is advisable to replace the clutch every 150 km.
+ str (XXX) +: no speed passes
If none of the gears work, the engine stopped as lit, it's really annoying. The first thing to look at is the state of the gearbox of your + str (XXX) +. There is a high probability that it will be out of service. To discern where the concern comes from, it's pretty easy. If you can push the lever into the guide of a speed, but it does not engage, it is the clutch that certainly has a problem. If the lever seems to be blocked and you cannot push it, the problem probably comes from the gearbox. In both cases, one or more parts will most likely need to be replaced.
